Chapter 1:

  3. Rivalry: Competition between two or more parties, often characterized by a desire to outdo each other.

  4. Gingerly: In a careful or cautious manner, often to avoid causing harm or discomfort.

  5. Incredulous: Unwilling or unable to believe something; showing disbelief or skepticism.

Chapter 2:

  1. Nonchalantly: In a casual or relaxed manner, often suggesting a lack of concern or interest.

  2. Aloof: Distant or uninvolved; emotionally detached or indifferent.

  3. Elite: A select group that is superior in terms of ability, status, or quality; often refers to the most powerful or influential members of a society.

  4. Reputation: The beliefs or opinions that are generally held about someone or something, based on past actions or characteristics.

  5. Vaguely: In a way that is not clearly expressed or defined; somewhat unclear or ambiguous.
