Conducting the Debate (1 class period)
Set Up:
- Arrange the classroom for a formal debate setting. Each side with journalists overseeing.
Debate Process:
- Each group presents their opening statements. 2 min each side.
- Allow time for rebuttals. 3 min each side + journalists 3 min.
- Each group delivers their closing statements. 2 min each side.
- Journalist side - 3 min summary view.
Audience Role:
- Students not debating can take notes and prepare questions. E.g. Journalists.
